Eightify.app for Instantly Getting Information from Long YouTube Videos

Eightify is a Chrome Extension which means you must be using Google Chrome as a web browser. Once you are running Chrome, just visit eightify.app and hit the button to install it as an extension.

WHAT DOES Eightify.app DO?

The one thing we all have in common is that there aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything we want to get done. Yet, at the same time, we need to spend time learning about what’s new! YouTube videos are an excellent resource for knowledge, but when long form videos might be a half hour or more in length, it burns a lot of time to sit through them.

Eightify will fix all that by giving you instant summaries of video content with time stamped bookmarks! You now have the choice to either just scan through the thumbnail topics and pick up the tips quickly, or if you want to listen to the specific part of the video that is useful for you, just jump to that section and listen to only that part.

Now that we’re using Chrome and we have Eightify installed as an extension, let’s head over to YouTube and do some research on a topic near and dear to my own heart: What are some best practices for using AI to generate social media content?

This question is going to flood our search results with a lot of options, which we could sit around for literally hours and hours to review, but Eightify is going to cut right through all that content like butter.

Let’s choose a video out of the list and notice that the upper right corner of the YouTube screen is now occupied by Eightify:

Right out of the gate, we’ll get a quick list of key insights from the video, and maybe this is enough to glean a couple tips from this video (or decide there’s nothing useful here for us!) and move on. However, if we like this information and want to dig further, then the real power of Eightify lies in getting a full summary. Hit the “Make a full summary” button to get more in-depth results:

The “Insights” tab pulls out all the main points of the video. Nice and simple!

My favorite part of Eightify, though, is the second tab at the top: “Summary”:

Switching to the “Summary” tab gives us a timestamped point by point outline of the video which can be scanned for info and then jump straight to the part you’d like to listen to.

How cool is that?? We can now flip through a few YouTube videos and get great information in a fraction of the time it would take to sit and listen to them in real time.
