Hi, Scott Lovejoy and Brandon Goldberg here with another weekly tip for improving your life and your business with AI. Our focus for November is better prompting, but with the big new announcements coming out of OpenAI, we decided to tell you about that, this week!

Here are the major changes and updates coming to ChatGPT, as announced at OpenAI’s Developer Day.

Many of the changes are technical, but we’ll tell you all about the ones that will have an immediate impact on your small business!

ChatGPT GETS A BIG TRANSFORMATION 🚀

On Monday, OpenAI held its first ever developer event and, as expected, it was full of changes in store for the world’s leading AI chatbot. 🎉 Here’s our summary of the news and how you might be affected:

• First off, they’re hitting the gas with GPT-4 Turbo. Imagine the smartest convo you've ever had, but on a double espresso—that's the kind of speed and smarts we're dealing with.

  • Our take: Everybody’s going to be happy with faster results!

• Say goodbye to the clutter of model picking. We’re getting the "All in One" model now, making your AI experience as smooth as butter.

  • Our take: Easy and built-in from the get-go, nothing to think about!

• The context/prompt input window's huge now—128K tokens huge! This means you can load bigger and more complex documents and prompts, roughly up to 300 pages worth.

  • Our take: Again, nothing to think about and much less chance you’ll bump your head on the limit of “that’s too big to load.”

• Updated knowledge cutoff in April 2023. It's like having a friend who always knows what's up.

  • Our take: The latest info at your fingertips, what’s not to love?

• Developers get souped-up API access, featuring Dall-e 3, GPT-4 Turbo, and even Text-to-Speech.

  • Our take: If you’re more technical and know how to code, get ready to build some mind-blowing stuff. The rest of us will stand by to see what you make!

• Tailor your AI just how you like it with next-level customization options. It's like your personal AI tailor, fitting you to perfection.

  • Our take: More options to fine tune your results is great!

• OpenAI is cranking up the speed with higher rate limits, because who likes waiting?

  • Our take: Prompt more, wait less. We like it!

• Sleep easy with the "Copyright Shield" guarding you against those pesky legal woes.

  • Our take: A small sentence with big repercussions. OpenAI guarantees that using GPT results won’t get you in trouble, and if it does they will cover legal expenses.

• Saving some money? Oh yeah! Top-notch AI for less dough. GPT-4 Turbo's now a steal at 2.75x cheaper rates.

  • Our take: We’re happy to receive more bang for our buck!

• Plus, drumroll, please... Introducing "GPTs"—your own custom bots for any task under the sun. Train them up just by chatting. And the cherry on top? There's a shiny new marketplace brewing where you can showcase and trade these clever bots.

  • Our take: Last is definitely not least. This is a brand new marketplace for ideas and solutions using ChatGPT. If you come up with a great clever way to use ChatGPT, you can bring that mini-app to the marketplace and get paid! On the flip side, it has never been easier to find something that will fit your needs way more precisely. This is probably the biggest new piece on this page.
